Don’t get puzzled on the line of the CDL fact sheet, "a) a combination of vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 26,001 or more pounds, provided the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds" and determine all trailers over 10000# require a CDL, in which case that is often wrong.So, for example, if your truck weights 11,000 pounds and your trailer has a GVWR of more than 15,000 pounds, you would be required to obtain a CDL.
